Music
Guitar, Banjo, Ukulele
Mike Kornrich has been performing for adults and children of all ages for about 40 years. He started when he was 13 in a band playing the early Beatles and other 60’s music. Mike jokes about how in 1965, " I was in a band called "Male of the Species" making $10 or $15 on a Friday or Saturday night and at age 13 back then that was more than I'm making now in proportion to todays' economy." Early in life he studied trumpet and then with the introduction of Elvis Presley he switched to guitar and banjo. Mike moved to New York City in 1978 and gained valuable experience performing there for 6 years.
Back in Rochester N.Y. he has been playing solo and gets his band together for special functions. You can see him around town at the Strong Museum, Lilac Festival, Seneca Park Zoo, Libraries, Country Clubs, Senior centers, Day Cares and many festivals and night clubs.
Mike has also appeared with the 50's rockers Danny and the Juniors. He was guitarist in the Ultimate Doo-Wop show in Rochester, NY in 2008.
At his shows you may hear “Rock Around The Clock”, “All Of Me”, “I’ve Been Working On The Railroad”, “When You’re Smiling”, “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Mind Your Own Business”, “King Of The Road”, and many other favorites.
